The Bahamian American Cultural Society, Inc. (BACS) Accepts Books for Bahamas Libraries

(New York, April 7, 2005) Beryl Edgecombe, the President of The Bahamian American Cultural Society, Inc. (BACS), reports from New York City that she has accepted the offer of 40 books for the Public Libraries in the Bahamas.

The donation of the book, Isles of Eden, was made by Barry Benjamin of Benjamin Publishing Company, and Harvey Lloyd, photographer at the opening of a Photograph Exhibition at the Bahamas Consulate Office. These books represent a global program of the Society to assist in the provision of more and better books in the libraries throughout the Bahamas, to stimulate reading, and to enhance literacy.
